X season of The Culture Train
You can look forward to a diverse cultural program on the route from Berlin to Wrocław and back! From readings, concerts, performances and workshops to talks and many interactive formats on the topic of ‘Expetition Europa Ekspedycja’.
The Culture Train runs again since 11 April 2025 every weekend until December 2025. The Culture Train connects Berlin with the Polish metropolis of Wrocław in around 4.5 hours. On Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, the train runs from Berlin-Lichtenberg to Wrocław Główny. The cultural train returns on Friday and Sunday evenings. The Culture Train also runs on selected public holidays.
The Culture Train runs on the following route:
Berlin-Lichtenberg – Berlin Ostkreuz – Cottbus Hbf – Weißwasser (Oberlausitz) – Węgliniec – Bolesławiec – Chojnów – Legnica – Wrocław Główny
Since 2022, the “Train to Culture” on the Berlin – Wrocław route has been a project of Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH, a company owned by the federal state. The multilingual cultural program on board is curated by a German-Polish team of experienced curators: Oliver Spatz, Natalie Wasserman, and Ewa Stróżczyńska-Wille.
The Berlin – Wrocław “Train to Culture” is funded by the federal states of Brandenburg and Berlin in cooperation with VBB and DB Regio Nordost.

Tickets Culture Train
You can buy tickets for the Wrocław – Berlin – Wrocław connection through the new KD store.
Tickets for the “Train to Culture” are also accepted on Wrocław’s city buses and trams.
The ‘Culture Train’ operates exclusively on a special tariff. The fees are specified in the tables below:

* – When purchasing on the train from a station with an open ticket office, an additional fee of 8.00 PLN is added to the total ticket price for issuing the ticket on the train (excluding disabled and mobility-impaired passengers).
The above prices do not qualify for any further discounts or reductions.
Children up to 6 years old travel for free, based on the adult’s travel document. Children aged 6 to 15 travel with a 50% discount ticket.
To transport a dog, you need to purchase a ticket according to the special offer for transporting a person (a ticket with a 50% discount). Each passenger may transport only one dog.
There is no possibility of transporting bicycles on the ‘Culture Train’.
The tickets issued according to the special offer are valid exclusively on the ‘Culture Train’. There is no possibility of travelling on other trains based on tickets issued under the special offer.
Tickets issued under the special offer are valid for international trips both from/to Wrocław Gł. and Berlin-Lichtenberg stations, as well as from/to intermediate stations on the route of the ‘Culture Train’.
There is no provision for ticket exchange or refund for unused tickets. Please direct any claims and compensation requests to Koleje Dolnośląskie according to the procedure specified in the Complaints and Claims section (polish version)>>>
The ‘Culture Train’ is not available for national travel, and there is no possibility of travelling by train based on other tickets than those described in the above special offer.

WROCŁAW – BERLIN – WROCŁAW ONLY FOR 116 PLN
The ‘Berlin-Clubnight-Ticket’ offer included ‘one-way’ trip on Friday and return trip on Saturday. The ticket price for the ‘round trip’ is only 116 PLN.
Attention!
We would like to inform you that starting from April 1, 2017, Deutsche Bahn is introducing optional seat reservations for the “Train to Culture.” The possibility of advance paid seat reservations is available only when checking in within Germany. Koleje Dolnośląskie does not offer seat reservations.
Passengers without a seat reservation may occupy any available seat, but must vacate it if a passenger holding a reservation for that seat arrives.
